Geschichte (Englisch) |
The brewery was incorporated on December 3, 1888, as Actien-Ges. zum Wilden Mann vorm. J. G. Seitz. The existing brewery was taken over for 478,000 marks. From 1894 the name of the company was Brauerei zum Zähringer Löwen in Schwetzingen. In addition to the brewery, a malt house was also operated and spirits, brandy, vinegar, artificial and pressed yeast were produced. In 1907 the Ritterbrauerei AG in Schwetzingen was taken over. After the losses increased over the years, the company was liquidated in the early 1920s. The brewery was taken over by the Werger-Brauerei from Worms in 1920. |
