António Almeida da Costa (1832 - 1915) gründete 1865 die Fábrica de Cerâmica e de Fundição das Devesas. Diese lag unweit der Eisenbahnstation von Vila Nova de Gaia. Costa wollte damit sein Maurergeschäft erweitern. Zwischen 1870 und 1874 ging Costa einen Partnerschaft mit dem Maurer Feliciano Rodrigues da Rocha und mit dem Skulpturenmeister José Joaquim Teixeira Lopes ein. In diesem Rahmen entstand auch die Fábrica de Cerâmica e de Fundição das Devesas. 1886 eröffente er eine Filiale in Pampilhosa do Botão. Die Gesellschaft stellte zahlreiche keramische Produkte sowie Produkte aus Gusseisen, Eisen und anderen Metallen. Ende der 1980er-Jahre stellte die Gesellschaft, die Grundbesitz in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, und Pampilhosa hatte, ihren Betrieb ein.
The Fábrica de Cerâmica e Fundição das Devesas was founded around 1865, next to the railway station of Vila Nova de Gaia by António Almeida Costa (1832 - 1915), as an extension of its masonry workshop. Between 1870 and 1874, António Almeida da Costa formed a partnership with Feliciano Rodrigues da Rocha, he was also a Mason, and with the master sculptor José Joaquim Teixeira Lopes.
