Die Gesellschaft wurde in South Dakota (USA) registriert, die Minen selbst lagen jedoch in British Columbia, Kanada. Die Ausbeute war allerdings nicht sonderlich hoch. Sie blieb schnell weit hinter den Erwartungen der Gesellschaft zurück.
The Standard Finance Company was founded with a capital of US-$ 3 million in 1896. It issued Warrant-Certificates which gave the owner the right to receive Shares of the Great Cariboo Gold Company. The company was registered in South Dakota, USA, but the mines itself were located in British Columbia, Canada. Results fell very far short of the predictions made by the promoters.
