The Belmont Driving Park in Merion (Philadelphia) was the gathering place for sulky horse racing and its fans in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was built by the Belmont Driving Park Association, which was incorporated on 19 October 1874. The Belmont Driving Park featured a mile-long oval track for harness racing. In the 1920s, the popularity of the race track was dwindling. The property was sold in 1924 to a real estate developer who created a housing development of single-family homes in what is now known as Merion Park.
