The Piedmontese silk industry developed because of the capital of the Dupré family. Coming from France, they settled in Piedmont in
1600. They owned several banks and financial institutions. The inventor Gaetano Bonelli tried to find out how he can use electricity and
electromagnetism for jacquard looms. The system developed by Bonelli led to energy savings and a more precious working of jacquard
looms. He presented his invention on the fairs in Milano and Turin. Gaetano Bonelli tried to introduce telegraph connections in run-
ning trains in 1854.

Die Seidenindustrie in Piemont entwickelte sich vor allem dank des finanziellen Engagements der Familie Dupré. Diese kam aus
Frankreich und ließ sich bereits 1600 im Piemont nieder. Sie besaß mehrere Banken und Finanzinstitute. Der Erfinder Gaetano Bonelli
beschäftigte sich damit, wie Elektrizität und Elektromagnetismus in den Webstühlen zur Herstellung von Jacquard-Stoffen eingesetzt
werden können. Die von Bonelli entwickelten Systeme führten zu Energieersparnis sowie zu einer präziseren Arbeitsweise der Web-
stühle. Er präsentierte seinen Prototyp auf Messen in Mailand und Turin. 1854 versuchte Gaetano Bonelli zudem die telegraphische
Verbindung aus fahrenden Zügen einzuführen.
