 Die Firma wurde 1869 als Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft gegründet. Ab 1894 wurden Fahrräder hergestellt. 1916 errichtete die Firma eine Fabrik für die Herstellung von Flugmotoren, Lkws und Autos. 1934 kam es zur Fusion mit Austro-Daimler und den Puchwerken.

 In 1869 the company was founded as Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft (Austrian factory of arms). Since 1894 bicycles have been produced. In 1916, the company erected a factory for the production of aircraft engines, trucks and cars. In 1934 there was a fusion between Austro-Daimler and the Puchwerken.
