 Die 1882 in New Jersey gegründete Gesellschaft baute eine Anlage zur Getreidebeförderung und ein Getreidelager in Newport New, Virginia. 1915 wurde die Anlage durch Feuer zerstört. Collis Porter Huntington (1821-1900) gilt neben Leland Standford, Charles Crocker und Mark Hopkins als einer der Big Four of California, die mit der Central Pacific Railroad den westlichen Teil der Transcontinentalen Eisenbahn bauten. Nach Abschluss dieses Projektes wandte sich Huntington der Idee einer südlichen Ost-Westverbindung zu und gründete dafür die Southern Pacific Railroad. Zusammen mit Leland Standford war Huntington eindeutig der aktivste der Big Four.

 The loan bears the original signature of Collis Porter Huntington as president. The company, founded in 1882 in New Jersey, built a complex for grain transportation and storage in Newport New, Virginia. In 1915 the complex was destroyed by fire. Collis Porter Huntington (1821-1900), along with Leland Stanford, Charles Crocker and Mark Hopkins, was one of the Big Four of California, who built the western portion of the transcontinental railroad, the Central Pacific Railroad. After completion of this project, Huntington took up the idea of a southern East-West connection and for that purpose founded the Southern Pacific Railroad. Together with Leland Stanford, Huntington was clearly the most active of the Big Four.
