Grace Reidy Comiskey (1894 - 1956) war von 1939 bis 1956 Eigentümer der American League Basball-Mannschaft Chicago White Sox. Grace Reidy Comiskey war die Schwiegertochter von Charles Comiskey. Nach dem Tod ihres Mannes J. Louis Comiskey übernahm sie die Kontrolle über das Team. Nach ihrem Tod gingen die Anteile an Comiskeys Tochter Dorothy Comiskey Rigney über. Sie war eine der wenigen Frauen, die Hauptaktionär eines großen Baseball-Teams war. Während ihrer Zeit als Aktionärin lieferte sie sich immer einen Wettstreit mit ihrem Bruder Chuck, der der zweitgrößte Eigentümer des Teams war. Als Dorothy 1958 ihre Anteile verkaufen wollte, beabsichtigte sie zunächst, an ihrem Brunder zu verkaufen. Dieser machte aber ein so unverschämt niedriges Angebot, dass Dorothy ablehnte und ihre Anteile an den White Sox stattdessen an Bill Veeck verkaufte. Damit endete die 58 Jahre andauernde Kontrolle der Comiskey-Familie über die White Sox. | |||

Grace Reidy Comiskey (1894 - 1956) was the owner of the Chicago White Sox of the American League from 1939 to 1956. Grace Reidy Comiskey was the daughter-in-law of Charles Comiskey and inherited control of the White Sox upon the death of her husband J. Louis Comiskey. Control of the White Sox passed to Comiskey's daughter, Dorothy Comiskey Rigney, upon her death. Dorothy Comiskey Rigney was one of the few women to have served as principal owner of a Major Baseball team. For most of her tenure as owner, Dorothy was in a running battle for control of the team with her younger brother, Chuck, who was the team's second-largest stockholder. When Dorothy put the team on the market after the 1958 season, she initially wanted to sell it to her brother. However, Chuck made such a lowball offer that Dorothy instead sold the White Sox to Bill Veeck, ending the Comiskey family's 58-year control of the franchise. | |||
