Interessantes Dokument über die Finanzen und die Verwaltung eines norditalienischen Stadtstaates, höchstwahrscheinlich von Siena - der Ort ist in dem Dokument nicht genannt, aber der Ausdruck „in consilio de campana“ ist für den Rat von Siena typisch. In feiner, kalligraphischer Kanzleischrift auf honiggelbem Pergament bestätigt der Notar Nikolaus Magnus den Beschluss des Stadtrats, der durch die Rathausglocken herbeigerufen wurde, den Steuereintreiber Ventura de Tortorio erst dann von seinen Pflichten zu entbinden, wenn die vollständige Summe in der Stadtkasse eingegangen ist. Das Dokument war zwischenzeitlich im Besitz des Paläographen Johan Peter Gumbert (1936 - 2016). Eine handschriftliche Übersetzung beziehungsweise Interpretation des Textes von einem Archivar mit Namen „R. Hipper“: „Rechnungsablage des aus seinem Amte scheidenden Steuereintreibers („Colector“) Ventura de Tortorio, Sohn Rainers d. T., vor dem „mit Glocken“ zusammengerufenen Rat („in consilio de pampana congregato“) der Kommune durch den Richter Jacobus Guirardi und den Syndikus und Prokurator Ugolini Peliparii über eine von den Schätzern („estimatores“) Amatore und Jacobus Bicci, Filippus Benegnoli und Bonaventura de Arezzo eingeleitete gemeindliche Zwangsanleihe („prestantia“). Die Einnahmen („introhitus“) betragen 1.647 Pfund 8 Schilling, die Ausgaben („expensae“), die durch den Betrag bezahlt werden, 1.646 Pfund 8 Schilling, so dass Ventura de Tortorio der Gemeinde noch 21 Schilling herauszuzahlen hat. Daraufhin erfolgt Entlastung. Die Verkündigung des Rechtsgeschäftes findet im Rathaus („in palatio communis“) statt nach der üblichen Weise unter Glockengeläute und Trompetenschall („ad sonum campane et tube“) in Gegenwart von Amatore Angilerio, Ranerio Rigitti, Beningrado Conbatuti, Beneviduto Marini, Bürgern und Stadtknechten statt, gezeichnet von Nicolaus Magni, Notar: „Ego Nicholaus Magni auctoritate“. | |||

Interesting document regarding the finances and the administration of a north Italian city state, most likely Siena. The city is not mentioned in the document, but the express “in consilio de campana” is typical for Siena. In fine, calligraphic clerical script on honey-yellow vellum, the notary Nikolaus Magnus confirms the decision of the aldermen, which were hailed by townhall bells. The alderman decided not to discharge the taxman Ventura de Tortorio, until the total amount was paid into the city treasury. The document was part of the collection of the palaeographer Johan Peter Gumbert (1936 – 2016). Following a handwritten translation respective interpretation of the text from an archivist with name “R. Hipper”: “Bookkeeping of the retiring taxman (“Colector”) Ventura de Tortorio, son of Rains d. T., in presence of the “by the bells” convened aldermen („in consilio de pampana congregato“) of the municipality. Convened by the magistrate Jacobus Guirardi and by the Counsel and procurator Ugolini Peliparii regarding a communal forced loan („prestantia“), which was initiated by the estimators („estimatores“) Amatore and Jacobus Bicci, Filippus Benegnoli and Bonaventura de Arezzo. Income („introhitus“) amounted to Pound 1,647 and 8 Shilling, the expenses („expensae“) were Pound 1,646 and 8 Shilling, so that Ventura de Tortorio has to pay to the government the amount of 21 Shilling. Subsequently exoneration is granted. The proclamation of the legal transaction takes place in more usual in the townhall („in palatio communis“) accompanied by peal of bells and trumpet fanfare („ad sonum campane et tube“) in presence of Amatore Angilerio, Ranerio Rigitti, Beningrado Conbatuti, Beneviduto Marini, citizen and bailiffs, signed by Nicolaus Magni notary: „Ego Nicholaus Magni auctoritate“. | |||
