The not-for-profit public company was incorporated on 23 January 1895. The indoor swimming pool was opened on 2 August 1897. The
indoor swimming pool located Zwingerstraße 10/12 (ul. Teatralna 10-12) gave the city of Wroclaw one of the most beautiful and most sty-
lish swimming pools in Germany at that time. It had two impressive swimming halls, well-spaced showers, bathhouses, as well as warm-
and hot-air-bathes on the Roman model. The company acquired neighbouring properties between 1904 and 1906 in order to expand. It
built a swimming hall for ladies in the following years. The original share capital of 500,000 Marks was increased by 250,000 Marks in
1906, in order to finance the extension buildings. Therefore shares of Series II were issued in 1906. The company sold 190 shares with
1,000 Marks nominal value, 90 shares with 500 Marks nominal value and 60 shares with 250 Marks nominal value each. Its more com-
pact and quadrangle tower with the characteristic peaked roof is already part of the Wroclaw skyline. Nor at the front, not inside changes
were made since the building has been constructed, but it was renovated classy in the meantime. Today the company’s name is Wro-
clawskie Centrum SPA Sp. z o.o.

Das gemeinnützige Unternehmen wurde am 23. Januar 1895 gegründet. Am 2. August 1897 wurde das Hallenschwimmbad eröffnet.
Breslau besaß mit seinem Hallenschwimmbad an der Zwingerstraße 10/12 (ul. Teatralna 10-12) eines der schönsten und stilvollsten Hal-
lenbäder im damaligen Deutschland. Es verfügte über zwei ansehnliche Schwimmhallen, großzügige Duschanlagen, Umkleidekabinen,
wie auch über Warm- und Heißluftbäder nach römischem Vorbild. Von 1904 bis 1906 erwarb die Gesellschaft benachbarte Grundstücke
um in den folgenden Jahren die Anlagen zu erweitern und eine eigene Damenschwimmhalle zu bauen. Das ursprüngliche Aktienkapital
von 500.000 Mark wurde zur Finanzierung der Erweiterungsbauten im Jahr 1906 um 250.000 Mark erhöht. Hierzu wurden Aktien der
Serie II ausgegeben und zwar 190 Aktien zu je 1.000 Mark, 90 Aktien zu 500 Mark und 60 Aktien zu je 250 Mark. Das Hallenschwimm-
bad hat 1945 den Festungskampf nahezu schadlos überdauern
können. Sein gedrungener und viereckiger Turm mit dem charak-
teristischen Spitzdach gehörte schon längst zum Ensemble der
Breslauer Stadtsilhouette. Weder an der Fassade noch im Inneren
wurde seitdem etwas verändert. Es ist inzwischen stilvoll renoviert
worden. Heute Wroclawskie Centrum SPA Sp. z o.o (GmbH).
