Das Unternehmen wurde am 3. März 1888 unter Übernahme
der Firma Schröder-Sandtfort in Mainz gegründet. Es wurde
Malz hergestellt und mit Hopfen und Malz gehandelt. 1906 wur-
de die Mälzerei in Nierstein an die Rheinische Bierbrauerei ver-
kauft. Gleichzeitig blieb die Actien-Gesellschaft für Malzfabrikati-
on & Hopfenhandel vormals Schröder-Sandfort wesentlich an der
Rheinischen Bierbrauerei beteiligt. Doch diese entwickelte sich
zum Flopp: 1910 wurde die Mälzerei stillgelegt, 1911 folgte die
Brauerei. Das Fiasko bei der Rheinischen Bierbrauerei riss auch
die Gesellschaft mit in den Abgrund. 1921 wurde die Börsenno-
tiz in Main eingestellt und bis 1938 befand sich die Firma in stil-
ler Liquidation.

The company was founded on 3 March 1888. It took over the
company Schröder-Sandtfort in Mainz at incorporation. The com-
pany produced malt and traded with hops and malt. The compa-
ny sold the maltery at Nierstein to the Rheinische Bierbrauerei in
1906. At the same time, the Actien-Gesellschaft für Malzfabrikati-
on & Hopfenhandel vormals Schröder-Sandfort held a major sta-
ke at the Rheinische Bierbrauerei. But this company was a flop:
The maltery was closed in 1910. The brewery followed one year
later. The fiasco of the Rheinische Bierbrauerei hit its major
shareholder, too. The shares were removed from the stock mar-
ket in Mainz in 1921. The company went into silent liquidation
until 1938.
