Joaquim, OU. R7. Ausgestellt auf José de Grimaldo, der unter König Philipp V. Regierungschef in Spanien war. Bereits 1705 war er Minister für Finanzen, Krieg und Seefahrt. 1714 wurde er dann zum ersten Staatssekretär, also zum Regierungschef ernannt. R7. | |||

Joaquim, OU. R7. Issued to José de Grimaldo, a Spanish Politician and head of government under King Philipp V. From 1705 on, Grimaldo was Minister for finance, war and seafaring. 1714 he became first state secretary, what meant, that he was head of the government. R7. | |||

Die spanische Handelsgesellschaft wurde gegründet, um die Ausfuhr verschiedener Güter in die Kolonien zu bewältigen. Im Gegenzug sollte die Gesellschaft dafür Silber ins Land bringen. Die Firma erhielt die Freihandelslizenz für Indien und China. Als im September 1789 ein Erlass über die Handelsfreiheit für ausländische Textilien verkündet wurde, fiel das Monopol. Die Auflösung der Gesellschaft stand im Raum, scheiterte aber am Widerstand der Aktionäre. 1834 ging die Firma dann in Konkurs. | |||

The Spanish trading company was founded to export various good to the colonies. The company should also help to import silver. The company was granted a free trade licence for China and India. In September 1789 the monopole was discontinued after the free trade agreement for foreign textiles was promulgated. There was an attempt to liquidate the company, but it failed because of the resistance of the share holders. In 1834 the company had to call in the receiver. | |||
