 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1923 von Pinchas Rutenberg gegründet. Sie betrieb ein Wasserkraftwerk im Jordan. Nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten wurden Rutenberg von Winston Churchill und Baron Edmond de Rothschild unterstützt. Später firmierte die Gesellschaft in Israel Electric Corporation um. die Gesellschaft wird noch heute an der Börse notiert. Großaktionär ist der Staat Israel.
History (English)
 The company was founded in 1923 by Pinchas Rutenberg and operated a hydroelectric power plant on the river Jordan. After initial difficulties, Rutenberg was supported by Winston Churchill and Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Later the company changed its name to Israel Electric Corporation. The company is still listed today. Major shareholder is the state of Israel.
