 George F. Getty begründete seinen Reichtum durch ertragreiche Investitionen in Finanzgesellschaften wie dieser. Mit Aufkommen des Ölbooms in Texas zog er nach Süden, baute dort ein bedeutendes Ölimperium auf, aus dem sein Sohn John Paul die Getty Oil formte. Siehe auch Los 81.

 The certificate bears the original signature of George F. Getty as Secretary. Enclosure: a letter of the company which is also signed by George F. Getty. George F. Getty established his wealth through profitable investments in financial companies like this one. At the emergence of the oil boom in Texas he went southward and created a significant oil empire which his son John Paul developed into Getty Oil. Cf. lot 81.
