 Die Banco de Cadiz wurde 1846 von neun Gesellschaftern mit einem Kapital von zehn Millionen Reales Vellon gegründet und nahm im darauffolgenden Jahr ihren Betrieb auf. Bis 1861 hatte die Gesellschaft ihr Kapital auf 50 Millionen Reales Vellon erhöht. 1871 geriet die Bank in Zahlungsschwierigkeiten. Die Abwicklung zog sich bis 1897 hin.

 The Banco de Cadiz was founded in 1846 by nine companies with a capital of ten million reales Vellón, and commenced operations in the following year. By 1861 the company had increased its capital to fifty million reales Vellón. In 1871 the bank encountered financial difficulties. The liquidation took until 1897.
