 Die Gesellschaft hieß zunächst Rhodesian Anglo American Corporation und war neben der Roan Consolidated Mines Ltd einer der beiden großen Kupferproduzenten Sambias. Mitte der 1970er Jahre führten jedoch ein kollabierter Kupferpreis, kaum vorhandene Reinvestitionen sowie eine falsche Ausrichtung der Produktion zu einer Wirtschaftskrise. In der Folge fusionierten Nchanga Consolidated Copper Mines und Roan Consolidated Mines 1982 zur Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines.
Historie (Angličtina)
 The company was formerly known as Rhodesian Anglo American Corporation and - beside Roan Consolidated Mines Ltd - one of Zambia’s two main copper producing companies. By the mid-1970s collapsing copper prices, reduced re-investments and a wrong focus on production led into an economic crisis. As a result Nchanga Consolidated Copper Mines and Roan Consolidated Mines merged into Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines in 1982.
