Die Bank wurde 1871 als Genossenschaft gegründet und 1888 in eine Aktiengesellschaft umfirmiert. Sie betrieb das Bank- und Kommissionsgeschäft in Effekten und Hypotheken sowie den Depositenverkehr. Das Institut war zudem als Terraingesellschaft aktiv: Sie besaß Grundstücke in der Kaiserin-Augusta-Alle, der Prenzlauer Chaussee, der Birkenstraße, der Kleiststraße sowie in Groß Lichterfelde und Halensee. Die Bank war allerdings chronisch klamm und defizitär: 1895 scheiterte der Versuch eine Anleihe zu platzieren. Statt zwei Millionen Mark wurden lediglich 165.700 Mark platziert. Auch die 1899 ausgegebenen Aktien Lit. C mussten bereits 1901 abgestempelt werden. | |||

The bank was incorporated as cooperative in 1871, and changed to a joint-stock-company in 1888. It did bank and commission business in securities and mortgages as well as the deposit business. Furthermore the company was active in the real estate business. It owned the properties in Kaiserin-Augusta-Alle, Prenzlauer Chaussee, Birkenstraße, Kleiststraße and in Groß Lichterfelde, and in Halensee. The bank was chronically cash-strapped and deficient. It failed with the attempt to place a bond in 1895. Instead of the planned amount of two million Marks it raised only 165,700 Marks. In 1899, it issued shares Lit. C, whose nominal value had to be reduced in 1901. | |||
