 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1905 ursprünglich als "The Rubber Plantations, Limited" gegründet, 1909 aber umbenannt. Sie besaß in Sri Lanka sowohl gepachtete als auch eigene Plantagen für Kautschuk, Kakao und Tee.

 In 1905, the company was initially founded as "The Rubber Plantations, Limited", but changed its name in 1909. It owned leasehold and freehold properties in Ceylon and cultivated rubber, cocoa and tea.
