Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway.
The Underground Electric Railways Company of London Limited, known as The Underground, was established in 1902. It was the holding company for the three deep-level tube underground railway lines in London opened during 1906 and 1907: the Baker Street and Waterloo Railway, the Charning Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway and the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway. Financial problems of the company led to the establishment of the London Passenger Transport Board in 1933, which absorbed the company and all of the independent and municipally operated railway, bus and tram services in the London area.
