Die Frankfurter Bank wurde 1856 gegründet. Bis
1901 hatte das Institut das Notenprivileg, was
dann aber aufgegeben wurde. 1970 erfolgte die
Fusion mit der ebenfalls 1856 gegründeten Ber-
liner Handels-Gesellschaft zur BHF-Bank. Spä-
ter firmierte die Bank als ING BHF-Bank und
gehörte zum niederländischen ING-Konzern.
Danach war die BHF-Bank ein Teil von Sal. Op-
penheim. Ab 2010 gehörte die Bank dann zur
Deutschen Bank AG. Seit 2014 gehört das In-
stitut einer Investorengruppe um die Kleinwort
Benson Group.
