 Die in Swindon beheimatete Eisenbahngesellschaft wurde am 21. Juni 1836 gegründet. Bereits ab Eröffnung war die Linie an die Great Western Railway Company verpachtet, die die Gesellschaft am 10. Mai 1844 auch übernahm.
History (English)
 The railway company was located in Swindon, England. It was incorporated on 21 June 1836. The 68 kilometres of railway track were leased to the Great Western Railway Company. On 10 May 1844, the company was taken over by the Great Western Railway Company.
