 Im 19. Jahrhundert begann in Estland der organisierte Schiffsverkehr zwischen den Inseln und dem Festland. Der Staat vergab hierfür Lizenzen. Bis 1930 wurde der Verkehr zwischen den Inseln und dem Festland vom Baltischen Bergungs-Verein getätigt. Die Gesellschaft war Anfang der 1920er-Jahre der zweitgrößte Reeder Estlands.
History (English)
 The organised maritime traffic between the main land and the isles began in Estonia in the 19th century. This service was done by the Baltic Salvage Association until 1930. The company was the second largest shipping company of Estonia at the beginning of the 1920th.
