History (German)
 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1865 in Southend-on-Sea gegründet. 1970 fusionierte sie dann mit der South Essex Waterworks Company zur Essex Water Company. Diese fusionierte 1994 mit der Suffolk Water Company zur Essex and Suffolk Water. Seit 2000 ist die Firma Teil von Northumbrian Water, tritt aber am Markt noch als Essex and Suffolk Water auf.
History (English)
 The Southend Waterworks Company had its origins in Southend-on-Sea in 1865. The South Essex Waterworks Company and the Southend Waterworks Company merged to form the Essex Water Company in 1970. In 1994, the Essex Water Company merged with Suffolk Water Company to form Essex and Suffolk Water. Since 2000 the company has been part of Northumbrian Water, but it continues to trade under the Essex and Suffolk Water.
