History (German)
 Jean-Baptiste Mollerat (1772 - 1855), ein bedeutender französischer Pionier der Chemie, gründete die Chemische Fabrik im Jahr 1809. Das Unternehmen, welches Säuren und Destillate für den Einsatz in der Metall- und Textilindustrie produzierte, wurde 1878 in eine KGaA umgewandelt. Mollerat erlangte nicht nur den Ruf eines ausgezeichneten Wissenschaftlers, sonder wurde auch als Mentor seines Neffen Gustave Eiffel (1832 - 1923) bekannt. Er weckte in dem späteren Erbauer des Eiffelturms die Liebe zu den Wissenschaften und unterrichtete ihn regelmäßig in Chemie und anderen Fächern.
History (English)
 Jean-Baptiste Mollerat (1772-1855) was one of the important French pioneers in Chemistry. In 1809, he established this Chemical Factory and specialised in the process of carbonisation and distillation of wood and other material for use in the metallurgical and textile industry. In 1878, the company was transformed into a Limited Partnership. Gustave Eiffel (1832 - 1923), Mollerat’s nephew, spent most of his free time with his uncle and in his factory. Here he found his enthusiasm for science and was regularly instructed by Mollerat in Chemistry and many other subjects.
