 Der Schiffbauer wurde in der frühen 1880ern von Robert Irvine gegründet. Nach dem Tod von Robert Irvine im Jahr 1903 übernahmen seine Söhne Robert Jr. und William Charles die Geschäftsleitung. 1924 musste die Werft wegen schlechter Auftragslage schließen.
History (English)
 Founded by Robert Irvine the Hartlepool yard started building colliers and small tramps in the early 1880s. In 1903 Robert Irvine died and management was taken over by his sons Robert Jr. and William Charles. Due to scarcity of orders the yard was closed in 1924. It was then the clubhouse and boat compound of the Tees Sailing Club.
