History (German)
 Die Anfänge der Gesellschaft gehen zurück in das Jahr 1838. Nicol Handyside war zu dieser Zeit russischer Konsul in Glasgow und begann zusammen mit seinem Bruder Robert den Handel mit Russland und dem Baltikum. Mit dem Einstieg der Henderson-Brüder begann das Unternehmen Transatlantik-Dampfschiffsdienste aufzunehmen. Nach deren Tod wurde es in die Anchor Line (Henderson Brothers) Ltd. umstrukturiert, die 1911 dann von der Cunard Steamship Company übernommen wurde.
History (English)
 The roots of this company go back to 1838, when Nicol Handyside was Russian Consul in Glasgow. Together with his brother Robert he started trading with Russia and the Baltic States. After the Henderson brothers entered the company, it started to operate several transatlantic steamship routes. After their death the company was restructured as Anchor Line (Henderson Brothers) Ltd., which was finally taken over by Cunard in 1911.
