 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1965 als Ingenieurbüro von Ludwig Pietzsch gegründet. 1988 wurde die GmbH in die Pietzsch AG umgewandelt. 1995 hat Rheinmetall Elektronik AG die Aktienmehrheit erworben und die Gesellschaft in obigen Namen umfirmiert. Heute ist die Firma eine Holdinggesellschaft für die Bereiche Automatisierungstechnik/ Telematik, Optronik sowie Meß- und Regeltechnik.
