Geschichte
 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1921 als "British Sangamo“ gegründet und war die britische Tochtergesellschaft der "Sangamo Electric Co." aus Springfield, Illinois, USA. Ursprünglich wurden Kilowattstundenzähler gefertigt, später auch Zeitschaltuhren für den industriellen Gebrauch. 1936 wurde die "Weston Electrical Instrument Co." aus Surbiton, Surrey, übernommen. Diese war ebenfalls eine britische Tochtergesellschaft – in diesem Fall der "Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation" aus Newark, New Jersey, USA. Benannt nach dem Firmengründer Dr. Weston, einem Pionier im Bereich der elektrischen Messtechnik, war diese einer der weltweit führenden Hersteller von elektrischen Messgeräten. Durch den Zusammenschluss entstand "Sangamo Weston”, welches in der Folgezeit eine breite Palette an elektrischen Mess- und Kontrollgeräten entwickelte und herstellte. Nachdem die Gesellschaft einen Zugang zur Luftfahrtindustrie hatte, richtete man die Produktion auf eben solche Messgeräte sowie auch anderes technisches Equipment aus, das in Flugzeugen verbaut wurde. 1976 wurde Sangamo Weston von Schlumberger übernommen und gehört heute zur Roxboro Group.
Geschichte (Englisch)
 The company was founded in 1921 under the name "British Sangamo", being the UK subsidiary of the "Sangamo Electric Co." of Springfield, Illinois, USA. Initially the company was a manufacturer of integrating kilowatt hour meters, but later expanded its activities to include industrial time switches. In 1936, British Sangamo acquired "Weston Electrical Instrument Co." of Surbiton, Surrey, the UK subsidiary of the "Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation" of Newark, New Jersey, USA – a company founded by Dr. Weston (a pioneer in the field of electrical measurements) and one of the leading manufacturers of electrical measuring and associated equipment worldwide. The two companies merged to form "Sangamo Weston", which designed and manufactured a wide range of electrical measuring and control equipment. The company became associated with products for the aviation industry and became a producer of measuring instruments, indicators and associated ancillary equipment for use on aircrafts. In 1976, the Sangamo Weston Group was acquired by Schlumberger and is now part of the Roxboro Group.
