Geschichte
 Die Humphrey-Pumpe ist eine Gasdruckpumpe, die von 1906 bis 1909 vom britischen Ingenieur Herbert Alfred Humphrey (1868 - 1951) entwickelt wurde. Die Pumpen kamen anschließend überwiegend in groß angelegten Wasserversorgungsanlagen zum Einsatz. Obwohl sie nur für kurze Zeit (ab 1910 bis zum Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkriegs) richtig populär waren, kamen zahlreiche von ihnen auch noch lange danach (bis in die 1970er) zum Einsatz.
Geschichte (Englisch)
 The Humphrey pump is a large internal combustion gas-fuelled liquid-piston pump, which was invented by British engineer Herbert Alfred Humphrey (1868 - 1951) between 1906 and 1909. These pumps were used for large-scale water supply projects. Even if they were popular for a short time only (from around 1910 to the outbreak of World War I), many of them continued in service for a long period afterwards (up into the 1970s).
