Geschichte
 C. de Murrieta & Co. war ein englisches Bankhaus, welches in London sicher nicht unbedeutend war: Aus dem Jahr 1866 ist unter anderem bekannt, dass die Firma eines der Gründungsmitglieder der Royal Belgian Benevolent Society war. In den 1880er Jahren schien man sich auf Argentinien zu fokussieren. In den Jahren 1881 und 1882 erwarb man in der Provinz Santa Fe Land, welches man 1883 dann als Mitbegründer in die Santa Fe Land Company einbrachte. 1889 platzierte man zusammen mit Baring Brothers eine Staatsanleihe, zu deren Zeichnern damals auch John Pierpont Morgans Firma Morgan & Co. gehörte. Was letztlich der Grund für finanzielle Schwierigkeiten war, ist schwer nachvollziehbar. Der „Murrieta Failure“ jedoch, wie die New York Times im April 1892 titelt, führt in jenem Jahr zur Abwicklung der Gesellschaft.

 C. de Murrieta & Co. was an English banking company. Located in London it was a Founder member of the Royal Belgian Benevolent Society in 1866. In the 1880s it maybe had a focus on Argentina: In 1881 and 1882 the company acquired land from the Government of the Province of Santa Fe, developed the land and formed the Santa Fe Land Company one year later. In 1889 Murrieta was one of the issuing bankers of Argentine state bonds, among others sold to Morgan & Co. of John Pierpont Morgan. However, C. de Murrieta & Co. had been in financial difficulties for a long time. In April 1892 the New York Times titled „The Murrieta Failure“, publishing that the company had to be wound up.
