 Universal Express behauptete, eine Transport- und Logistikgesellschaft zu sein. Wie allerdings Untersuchungen der amerikanischen Börsenaufsicht SEC ergaben, bestand das ganze Geschäft nur im Drucken und im Vertrieb von nicht registrierten Aktienurkunden. Die Erlöse aus dem Aktienverkauf gingen für den verschwenderischen Lebensstil von Richard Altomare und dessen Unterstützer drauf.
Geschichte (Englisch)
 Universal Express claimed to be a transportation and logistics service company. However, investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission SEC clearly revealed that the primary business of Universal Express was the production and distribution of billions of illegal, unregistered shares. The money from these sales went directly to support the lavish lifestyle of Richard Altomare and his supporters.
