Geschichte
 Nach seinem Dienst in der Confederate States Army kam John L. Boland zu Beginn des Jahres 1866 nach St. Louis, Missouri. Seine geschäftliche Laufbahn begann er dort als Angestellter einer Buchhandlung. Nach kurzer Zeit wurde er bereits zum Teilhaber des Geschäfts, welches er letztlich dann komplett übernahm. Über viele Jahre hinweg galt er als der führende Buchhändler in St. Louis, ehe das Business 1910 von Frank H. Wielandy übernommen wurde. Wielandy war ein früherer Angestellter Bolands, der sich aber bereits 1901 mit seinem Bruder Paul J. Wielandy sowie A. M. Blackwell zusammengetan und die Blackwell-Wielandy Book & Stationery Company gegründet hatte. 1907 errichteten sie in St. Louis das Blackwell-Wielandy Building, welches zuerst von Boland bezogen wurde. Später wurde es dann für sieben Jahrzehnte der Firmensitz für das "landesweit größte Haus seiner Art". Zudem wurde es in das National Register of Historic Places aufgenommen.
Geschichte (Englisch)
 After serving in the Confederate States Army, John L. Boland came to St. Louis, Missouri, at the beginning of the year 1866, where he began his commercial career as a clerk in the wholesale book and stationary trade. After a short time, he was admitted a partnership in the business, which he finally took over as a sole proprietor. For many years he was said to be St. Louis' leading bookseller. In 1910, the business was taken over by Frank H. Wielandy, an former employee. Wielandy joined A. M. Blackwell and his brother, Paul J. Wielandy, in organising what was still known as the Blackwell-Wielandy Book & Stationery Company in 1901. In 1907, they constructed the Blackwell-Wielandy Building in St. Louis, which was first occupied by Bolands' company, but later became the headquarters for seven decades of allegedly the "largest house of its kind in the country". Finally it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
