Geschichte (Englisch) |
The Bremen-Mindener Schiffahrt AG was created by merger of the Bremer Schleppschiffahrtsgesellschaft (founded 1886) with the Mindener Schleppschiffahrtsgesellschaft (founded 1893) in 1939. The company offered services at the Weser, on rivers connected to the Weser, as well as on the sea. Furthermore it offered transportations services and commission business. The company mainly transported potash from the production regions in northern Hesse and Thuringia, which was transported via Hannoversch Münden to Bremen, where it was exported via ship. The company was a major shareholder of the Weserwerft Minden. In 1971, the company was taken over by the Fendel-Schiffahrts-AG, Mannheim. This company is part of Rhenus Logistics now, but it offers no shipping services at the Oberweser and Mittelweser any more. |
