Geschichte (Englisch) |
The company was founded on 1 June 1892, and registered on 23 November 1892. Purpose was the continuation of the shoe factories Max Brust in Nuremberg and B. Berneis in Fürth. The main manufacturing plant was located in Nuremberg at Aufsessplatz, 18, and in the Siebenkesstrasse, 23. In addition, there were still factories in Nuremberg-Gibitzenhof and Fürth (both rented) and on their own estate in Herzogenaurach and Mering near Augsburg. The mechanical shoe factory Mering near Augsburg was taken over from a bankruptcy estate in 1905. As early as 1920, the August Wessels Schuhfabrik AG was acquired by merger. The company was now the world's largest manufacturer of felt shoes. After the World Economic Chest, all holdings were sold off and the focus was on the main plant in Nuremberg. In 1976, the company went bankrupt. |
