 Darius Ogden Mills (1825 - 1910) ging im Zuge des Goldrausches 1849 nach Kalifornien und gründete dort die Bank D. O. Mills & Co. 1850 wurde er Präsident der Bank of California und finanzierte später in entscheidendem Maße den Bau der Transkontinentalen Eisenbahn durch die Central Pacific Railroad.

 Original signature of Daniel Ogden Mills in the back. Drawn by the gold rush, Darius Ogden Mills (1825-1910) went to California in 1849 and there founded the bank D.O. Mills & Co. In 1850 he became President of the Bank of California and later-on financed a major portion of the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad by Central Pacific Railroad.
