 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1871 gegründet. Dabei wurde die bereits 1833 vom Kommerzienrat Schlutius errichtete Papierfabrik von Bernhard Behrend & Söhne in Kösslin übernommen. Die Gesellschaft lieferte das Telegraphenpapier für Norddeutschland. Zudem lieferte die Fabrik die Postkarten für die Reichspost. 1876 ging die Fabrik bereits in Konkurs. Die Cössliner Papierfabrik AG wurde als Auffanggesellschaft gegründet. Diese ging um die Jahrhundertwende ebenfalls in Liquidation. 1905 entstand dann die Kösliner Papierfabrik AG als Auffanggesellschaft.

 The company was formed in 1871. It took over the paper mill of Bernhard Behrend & Söhne in Kössling, which was founded by Kommerzienrat Schlutius in 1833. The company supplied the northern part of Germany with paper for telegraphs. The company furthermore supplied the Reichspost with Postcards. The company went bankrupt in 1876. The Cössliner Papierfabrik AG was formed as successor, but this company also went into liquidation at the turn of the century. The Kössliner Papierfabrik AG was formed as rescue company in 1905.
