 Ignatius Gustav Deutsh war Holzhändler in Putney. Nicht nur auf Grund des Namens war er höchstwahrscheinlich ein deutscher Jude, der nach England auswanderte. Kurioserweise wurde seine Nationalität als "unsicher" angegeben, als er 1939 den britischen Fahneneid schwor. War dies - angesichts des sich abzeichnenden Krieges gegen Deutschland - Absicht? Die Firma war ein Zusammenschluss mit William B. Calder und dürfte nicht allzu groß gewesen sein: Immerhin war Calder Director und Secretary gleichzeitig.

 Ignatius Gustav Deutsh was a Timber Agent and Merchant in Putney. Most probably he was a German Jew and emigrated to the United Kingdom before. Curiously the London Gazette reported his nationality as uncertain when Deutsh took the British Oath of Allegiance in July 1939. The company was a merger with William B. Calder and seems to have been a small one as Calder was both Director and Secretary.
