 Fassifern ist ein Vorort der Lake Macquarie City im australischen Bundesstaat New South Wales. Es entstand in Folge erster Aktivitäten in der Holzverarbeitung und im Bergbau in diesem Gebiet, zu denen auch die in den frühen 1880er Jahren vom Vermesser John Joseph Tucker und einigen anderen Geschäftsleuten aus Newcastle gegründete Fassifern Coal Company gehörte. Der Bahnhof eröffnete im Jahr 1887 und ist seitdem ein wichtiger Halt an der Bahnlinie von Sydney nach Newcastle.
Historie (Angličtina)
 Fassifern is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia. It was first developed as a result of sawmill and coal mining operations in the area, which included the formation of the Fassifern Coal Company by surveyor John Joseph Tucker and some other Newcastle businessmen in the early 1880s. The railway station opened in 1887, and since then it is a major station along the Sydney-Newcastle railway line.
