 Die Bank wurde 1863 gegründet. In den 1890er-Jahren erwarb sie große Teeplantagen in Indien und auf Ceylon. Nachdem die Bank 1896 in Liquidation ging, wurden die Plantagen auf die Amalgamated Tea Estates Company übertragen.

 The bank was incorporated in 1863. It bought several tee plantations in India and Ceylon in the 1890th. After the liquidation of the bank in 1896, the tee assets were transferred to the Amalgamated Tea Estates Company.
