Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Company
 
Historie (Německo)
 1806 gründete William Colgate in New York die Seifenfabrik Colgate & Company. Im Westen der USA bagann 1864 die B. J. Johnson Soap Company mit der Produktion einer Seife aus Palmöl und Olivenöl - daher der Name Palmoliv. Auf Grund der Popularität der Seife wurde auch die Firma in Palmolive umbenannt. 1926 fusionierte diese mit Peet Brothers zur Palmolive Peet Company. Diese schloss sich 1928 mit der Colgate & Company zur Colgate Palmolive Peet Company zusammen. Erst 1953 entstand der heutige Firmenname Colgate-Palmolive.

 In 1806 William Colgate founded his soap company Colgate & Company in New York. In 1864 the B. J. Johnson Soap Company started with the production of a soap out of palm oil and olive oil - palmolive. Because of the success of the product, that company name was changed to Palmolive. In 1926 the company merged with Peet Brothers to Palmolive Peet Company. Two years later there was another merger with Colgate to form Colgate Palmolive Peet Company. In 1953 finally the name was changed to Colgate-Palmolive.
