| Marilyn Monroe gründete die Gesellschaft im Dezember 1954, nachdem sie den Film „Das verflixte siebte Jahr“ fertiggestellt hatte, zusammen mit dem Fotografen Milton Greene. Insgesamt standen 101 Aktien aus. Marilyn besaß 51 Aktien, Greene behielt die verbleibenden 50. Die Aufgabe von Marilyn war es, die Hauptrolle in von der Gesellschaft ausgewählten Filmen zu spielen, während Greene die Geschäftsführung übernahm und sich um die Begleichung der Ausgaben zu kümmern hatte. Die Beziehung zwischen Monroe und Greene verschlechterte sich nach und nach, da Monroes Ehemann Arthur Miller mehr und mehr Einfluss auf die professionellen Geschäfte von Monroe nahm. Im April 1957, als „Der Prinz und die Tänzerin“ erschien und auch die außerordentliche Hauptversammlung der Gesellschaft abgehalten wurde, behauptete Monroe, Greene würde die Gesellschaft schlecht führen. Sie ersetzte die Firmenjuristen durch Millers persönlichen Rechtsberater Robert H. Montgomery. Marilyn Monroe (1926 – 1962), deren eigentlicher Name Norma Jeane Mortenson lautete, brachte es als Filmschauspielerin und Sängerin, Fotomodell und Filmproduzentin zu Weltruhm. Sie wurde in den 1950er Jahren zum Weltstar, ist heute eine Filmikone und gilt als archetypisches Sexsymbol des 20. Jahrhunderts. Sie wurde 1944 als Fotomodell entdeckt, bekam 1946 ihren ersten Filmvertrag und 1952 mit „Versuchung auf 809“ ihre erste Hauptrolle. Marilyn Monroe war zu ihrer Zeit die bekannteste und meistfotografierte Frau der Welt. Marilyn Monroe starb in der Nacht vom 4. auf den 5. August 1962 im Alter von nur 36 Jahren. She became a world star in the 1950th, is a movie icon nowadays, and is considered as archetypal sex symbol of the 20th century. Monroe was discovered as photo model in 1944, got her first film agreement in 1946 and in „Don’t Bother to Knock“ her first main role in 1952. Marilyn Monroe was the best known and most photographed woman of the world. Marilyn Monroe died at age 36 on 5 August 1962.
