We only know of one more certificate of this which is issued to Sidney Dillon. This other certificate is not issued to him personally, but as Trustee. | |||

Die Bedeutung von Sidney Dillon (1812-1892) wird vielfach völlig unterschätzt. Er baute als Ingenieur und Financier Tausende von Eisenbahnmeilen in allen Teilen der USA, unter anderem für die Pennsylvania Railroad. Für die New York Central Railroad von Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt baute er den Tunnel von der Grand Central Station an der 42. Straße in New York City zum Harlem River. Dillon war auch einer der Hauptauftraggeber beim Bau der ersten transkontinentalen Eisenbahn, der Union Pacific Railroad, deren President er von 1874 bis 1884 und von 1890 bis 1892 war. Mit seiner selbstbewussten Strategie, sich für die von ihm gebauten Eisenbahnstrecken nicht nur in Cash, sondern teilweise auch in Aktien der Bahnen bezahlen zu lassen, häufte er ein großes Vermögen an. | |||

The importance of Sidney Dillon (1812-1892) is mostly underestimated. He constructed as engineer thousands of railway miles in all parts of the United States of America. He also worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Dillon constructed the tunnel of the Grand Central Station to Harlem River at the 42th street in New York City by the order of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt's New York Central Railroad. Dillon was one of the main constructors at the building of the first transcontinental railway, the Union Pacific Railway. He was president of the Union Pacific Railway from 1874 to 1884 and from 1890 to 1892. Dillon accumulated a huge fortune because he was convinced of his projects and he demanded large parts of his payments in shares of the companies. | |||
