1854 wurde die Charleston & Savannah Railroad gegründet. Sie baute die 105 Meilen lange Strecke von Charleston nach Savannah in South Carolina. Im Bürgerkrieg wurde die halbfertige Bahn zerstört und die Gesellschaft musste 1866 als Savannah & Charleston Railroad reorganisiert werden. 1873 ging die Bahn in Konkurs. Thomas F. Drayton war später ein General der Konföderierten-Armee. | ||||||||||||

The Charleston & Savannah Railroad was incorporated in 1854. It built and operated 105 miles of railroad track between Charleston and Savannah in South Carolina. The railroad was reorganized as Savannah & Charleston Railroad in 1866. The company went bankrupt in 1873. Thomas F. Drayton was a general in the Confederate army later. | ||||||||||||
