 Die Library Company of Baltimore wurde 1796 als erste öffentliche Bücherei in Baltimore eröffnet. Im Jahr 1854 übertrug die Firma ihre Bestände auf die Maryland Historical Society Library, die in der Folgezeit über einen der umfangreichsten Bestände des Landes verfügte.

 Only two pieces are known! The Library Company of Baltimore was inaugurated in 1796 as the first public library in Baltimore. In 1854 the company transferred its properties to the Maryland Historical Society Library, which in the following years had one of the most extensive inventories of the nation.
