 Die Bahn wurde 1891 auf Grund einer ottomanischen Konzession, die bis 1989 dauern sollte, gegründet. Zweck der Gesellschaft war der Bau und der Betrieb der 219 Kilometer langen Bahnstrecke von Salonique nach Monastir. Diese wurde am 14.06.1894 vollständig in Betrieb genommen.

 The railroad company was founded in 1891. It had a concession from the Ottoman Empire until 1989. The company's purpose was the construction and exploitation of a 219 kilometres long railway from Salonique to Monastir. The railway was completely put into operation von 14 June 1894.
