 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1907 nach den Gesetzen des US-Bundesstaates Maine gegründet, um die 226 Meilen lange Eisenbahn entlang der Flüsse Mamoré und Madeira (Brasilien) zu bauen. 1910 ging das erste Teilstück in Betrieb. 1912 wurde dann die gesamte Strecke eröffnet. Die Gesellschaft wurde allerdings bereits 1914 zahlungsunfähig. Da die Gläubiger auf 85 Prozent ihres Geldes verzichteten überlebte die Bahn und fährt heute noch.
Storia (Inglese)
 The company was founded in 1907 according to the laws of the State of Maine. It built a 226 mile long railway in Brazil. The line followed the rivers Mamoré and Madeira. In 1910 the first part of the railway was opened. In 1912 the complete railway was opened. The company failed for the first time in 1914. But the Bondholders waived for 85 per cent of their money. Therefore the railway still exists today.
