 Die 1894 von John Hamilton Brown erfundene Brown Segmental Wire Gun war in der Lage alle seinerzeit bekannten Armierungen zu durchschlagen. Der Grund hierfür war die extrem hohe Abschussgeschwindigkeit von rund 3.600 Kilometern pro Stunde. 1903 gründete Brown die Brown Wire Gun Company.

 John Hamilton Brown invented the Brown Segmental Wire Gun in 1894. The gun was able to destroy all armours which were known at that time. The reason for this power was the very high initial speed of round about 3,600 kilometres per hour. Brown founded the Brown Wire Gun Company in 1903.
