Morris was delegate of the first Continental Congress in 1774, where the American Colonies arranged the resistance movement against the English Crown. Furthermore he was war financier, signer of the Declaration of Independence, delegate of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and member of the Senate. Morris had a keen interested in the financial sector. He raised the money to support the troops of George Washington. The money helped Washing- ton to afield his troops under difficult circumstances. Robert Morris was American Minister of Finance between 1781 and 1784. He founded the Bank of North America and the Bank of New York, at that time.
