The Belmont Driving Park in Merion (Philadelphia) was the gathering place for sulky horse racing and its fans in the late 1800s and ear- ly 1900s. It was built by the Belmont Driving Park Association, which was incorporated on 19 October 1874. The Belmont Driving Park featured a mile-long oval track for harness racing. In the 1920s, the popularity of the race track was dwindling. The property was sold in 1924 to a real estate developer who created a housing development of single-family homes in what is now known as Merion Park. Der Belmont Driving Park umfasste einen Parcours von einer Meile Länge und hatte eine ovale Form um darauf Trabrennen durchzuführen.
