 Die Gesellschaft entstand 1898 durch den Zusammenschluss von zwei britischen Familienunternehmen, die Brauereien und Pubs besaßen. Heute firmiert die Gesellschaft als Mitchells & Butlers. Sie besitzt und betreibt eine Reihe von Pubs, Bars und Restaurants sowie zwei Billig-Hotelketten, die sich in der Nähe der Pub-Restaurants befinden. Mitchells & Butlers ist der größte Restaurantbetreiber in Großbritannien.

 The company was formed by the merger of two Midlands family businesses that owned breweries and pubs in 1898. Today, the company is named Mitchells & Butlers. It is the owner and operator of an estate of managed pubs, bars and restaurants, along with two chains of budget hotels that are co-located with its pub-restaurants. It is the largest operator of restaurants and bars in the UK.
